This is Smoke a’Doke and his owner who reside at Five Keys.
Vets in Vans is partnered with Five Keys in Oakland CA. In late 2020, Alameda County purchased two hotels and transitioned these hotels to permanent supportive housing. The properties are currently operated as shelters to house homeless individuals during the COVID-19 pandemic. They also allow pets in their housing facility.
Five Keys provides secured parking for our vehicles, while we provide free medical and vaccine clinics for their residents.
Smoke a’Doke’s owner lost her housing 3 years ago and has been at Five Keys ever since. She loves Smoke a’Doke and provides him with the best care she can. She says she loves her Vienna sausages, but she ends up giving most of them to Smoke a’Doke because he also loves Vienna sausages.
We helped Smoke a’doke with vaccines, nail trim, flea preventatives, and dewormer. He loves riding around in his owner’s chair and was the sweetest best patient! He didn’t mind his nail trim with the Vienna sausages as a distraction!
