Sir Lix A lot is a 10 year old shihtzu who was diagnosed with probable cancerous abdominal cryptorchid testicle and a right sided perineal hernia. His cancerous testicle had grown very large inside his abdomen and he was suddenly straining to defecate. Perineal hernias are most commonly found in intact males and it is when the pelvic muscles weaken and the abdominal organs are herniated around the anus. He was put on laxatives, but his owner didn’t think he had a good quality of life without surgery. She came to Vets in Vans and we were able to remove the cancerous abdominal testicle and repair the right sided perineal hernia. This is him 3 weeks post op and he’s doing excellent! Owner was so happy that she also brought her two other dogs to be neutered. We’re so happy we were able to help Sir Lix Alot! We hope he lives a long carefree life without his cancerous testicle in his abdomen!

Rosko’s owner reached out to us because they needed help. Rosko is a 5 month old male yorkie puppy who ate something he wasn’t supposed to. He was completely blocked and very sick. Owner was unable to pay for surgery at the emergency clinic and was facing euthanasia. She was devastated. We were able to add him on to our surgery list and remove a peach pit! The owner said they have a peach tree in their yard and occasionally the peaches drop and she didn’t realize Rosko was eating them. She is now going to closely monitor him whenever he’s outside. He’s back home with his loving family and the owners are ecstatic to have him back home healthy and thriving!

Biggie is a 5YO MN FIV+ kitty who had severe stomatitis and was rescued by @senanimalrescue_usa. His mouth was rotting. He needed full mouth extractions. This is what @senanimalrescue_usa had to say about Vets in Vans: “Biggie was surrendered. He tested positive for FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus), have had a long history of ringworm, and was diagnosed with gingivitis and severe periodontal disease. This poor cutie have had so much on his plate! Many thanks to Dr.Park & Nosheen for the full mouth dental extractions, to Marissa, Vanessa, and everyone involved who helped to make sure that Biggie’s state is good for the surgery. The amazing team did all required blood work, took X-rays and all measures. Thankfully, cats can live a full, normal life without teeth. Indeed, having no teeth is always preferable to living in pain with diseased teeth, and inflamed gums. Everything is going great actually! Biggie is doing really really well and I’d say he’s even more active than before!!! He takes his medicine fairly easily and has a good appetite and I haven’t seen any blood in his saliva. But his mouth does look really good, the sutures look good and he’s still just as cute, of course! Thanks to the compassionate team of @vetsinvans - they were able to take us in for their stellar affordable care! I came 30 mins before their official opening and got to see how harmoniously they all together set up tents, tables, kennels, their space, sanitized, and got ready for another life-saving day on their mission to help as many animals in our community as possible. Indeed, was I impressed by their team of hardworking professionals, you could see their great enthusiasm and passion in what they do!” We’re so happy that we were able to help that adorable face! Thank you @eastbayspca for allowing us to rent your dental space and equipment. Without their generosity, dentals would not be possible. Good luck Biggie! We wish you the best!

Tiny, a 1 YO male poodle, and his family came to us after they had been referred by an emergency clinic. Tiny was hit by a car and his eye had proptosed. He had significant swelling and bruising around the face, but he otherwise had no other injuries. His family made the difficult decision to euthanize because they couldn’t afford the surgery. Fortunately, we were able to step in and help. We were able to remove the irreparably damaged eye, perform a neuter, and send him back to his loving owners. We offer third party payment plans and we’re so happy to partner with @vetbilling to be able to make veterinary medicine more accessible. We’re so happy we were able to help Tiny and his family! We wish him a speedy recovery!
